"Peanut Butter Bars"
10 minutes preparation time, 30 minutes to set

Ingredients

Peanut Butter

  • 1/2 c powdered sugar
  • 1/2 c peanut butter
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Topping

  • 3 oz chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp butter

Directions

  1. Mix peanut butter ingredients in a medium bowl with a wooden spoon until creamy.
  2. Pat into an 8" round or square pan
  3. Melt chocolate chips and butter in a microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir, then microwave for an additional 30 seconds and stir again until melted - careful not to burn (or you can use a double boiler).
  4. Spread chocolate over peanut butter mixture using the back of a metal spoon.
  5. Cover the pan and chill until firm, about 30 minutes.
  6. Cut into bars.

Notes

This is a recipe from my middle school home ec class that tastes similar to Reese peanut butter cups - remember to put your kitchen and period number on the bars. ;) Sara 20:07, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
