Aunt Vernal's Cookies

Ingredients

Bottom Layer

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 stick butter

Top Layer

  • 3 eggs
  • 1.5 cups(?) brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups chopped mixed nuts

Glaze

  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp(?) fresh lemon juice


Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Butter a 9x12" pan.
  3. Blend ingredients for bottom layer and press in pan.
  4. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, beat 3 eggs.
  6. Blend in brown sugar, baking powder, and vanilla.
  7. Mix in nuts.
  8. Pour over bottom layer(?) and bake at 350F for 25 minutes.
  9. Cool in pan.(?)
  10. Blend glaze ingredients until smooth.(?)
  11. Pour glaze over top layer and let set.(?)

Notes

This is my mom's Aunt Vernal's recipe. She wrote it down for me but skipped a few steps and measurements so I'm adding what I think they should be, though I should probably test it.... Sara 05:38, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
