Spicy Broccoli with Golden Garlic Pasta

Ingredients
- 1 lb broccoli, stalks chopped and head separated into florets
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, finely sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- salt, black pepper
- 1 lb dried pasta (shapes)
Directions
- Cook broccoli in a pan of boiling, salted water until just tender, 3-5 minutes. Drain.
- Heat oil in a skillet.
- Add garlic and cook over medium high heat, stirring frequently, until just golden, 2 minutes.
- Add drained broccoli and red pepper flakes and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta in a large pot of boiling, salted water, until firm to the bite.
- Drain pasta and return to the pot.
- Toss pasta with the sauce.
- Serve immediately.
