* 200g butter&lt;br /&gt;
* 300g sugar&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 packet vanilla sugar&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 egg&lt;br /&gt;
* 3 tablespoons milk&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 pinch each of cardamom and cinnamon&lt;br /&gt;
* Zest of 1 lemon&lt;br /&gt;
* 1 teaspoon (?) of almond extract&lt;br /&gt;
* 500g flour&lt;br /&gt;
* 100g chocolate&lt;br /&gt;

# Cream butter with sugar and vanilla sugar.&lt;br /&gt;
# Add egg, milk, spices, lemon zest, and almond extract and mix.&lt;br /&gt;
# Knead in the sifted flour.&lt;br /&gt;
# Form the dough into rectangular logs, wrap in aluminum foil, and refrigerate for 2 hours.&lt;br /&gt;
# Preheat the oven to 375 F.&lt;br /&gt;
# Cut the logs into 1/2cm thick slices, and bake in the middle of the oven for 15 minutes until golden.&lt;br /&gt;
# Cool completely, while melting the chocolate.&lt;br /&gt;
# Dip each cookie diagonally halfway into the chocolate, then lay on a piece of wax paper to dry. &lt;br /&gt;

This is from Back vernügen wie noch nie. Martina recommends halving the recipe and using more of the spices for more flavor. The original recipe includes 3 ground bitter almonds, but since those are contraband in North America, it&amp;#039;s been replaced with almond extract.&lt;br /&gt;
