Wiener Vanillekipferl

Bake at 375F (190C) for 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 50g blanched ground almonds
  • 50g blanched ground hazelnuts
  • 280g flour
  • 70g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200g of butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 5 tablespoons (packages) vanilla sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Directions

Mix together everything but the vanilla sugar and powdered sugar. Let rest for 2 hours.

Mix together the vanilla sugar and powdered sugar.

Shape the dough into rolls that are about 5cm in length and bend them into crescents.

Bake them on a cookie sheet in the middle of the oven for 10 minutes until golden. While the cookies are still warm, toss them with the sugar mixture to coat.

Notes

Daddy thought these were the most important cookies of the Christmas bunch.
